Apprenticeships

ILM’s market-leading management apprenticeship solutions are designed to create a more qualified and better trained workforce. Our end-to-end offer has been custom built for apprenticeships and includes qualifications, training resources, end point assessment and digital credentials.

Why apprenticeships?

Poor people management is hitting the efficiency of UK businesses by an average of 8%, costing UK PLC £84bn a year. That’s a huge loss to the UK economy and one that can be addressed by developing better leadership skills at all levels of the organisation.

Apprenticeships are a big opportunity for business. A report from the Centre for Economics Business Research (CEBR) in 2015 said that both businesses and consumers would prefer to do business with employers involved in apprenticeships.

UK businesses routinely struggle to recruit skilled leaders and managers across all levels of their organisation. The UK has a large and growing leadership and management skills gap that contributes to our poor productivity versus other G8 nations, yet managers and leaders are amongst the least likely to receive formal training and development in the UK – a long time blind spot in the UK skills agenda.

Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship

As a Team Leader your responsibilities may vary from supporting, managing and developing your team members, to managing projects or planning and monitoring workloads and resources. Delivering operational plans, resolving problems, or building work relationships are also key factors in becoming a successful Team Leader.

You can also fit a variety of roles as Team Leader, from Supervisors and Project Officers to Shift Supervisors, Forepersons, or Shift Managers.

Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship

Level 5 managers are responsible for everything from creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, and leading and managing teams, to managing change, financial and resource management. Responsibilities also include talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include those of Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager as well as other specialist managers.
