Onboarding

How does onboarding work?

Our onboarding process ensures each learner is eligible, compliant, and enrolled on the correct apprenticeship programme before starting.

What’s included in onboarding?

Application form, Maths & English assessment, skills scan, learning style questionnaire, training plan, apprenticeship agreement, ID checks, and workplace risk assessment.

What happens at induction?

Induction confirms roles and responsibilities for the apprentice, employer, and assessor, and sets an individual learning plan and delivery timeline.

Apprentice Pay

Do apprentices get paid?

Yes. Apprentices must be paid for all working hours, including training time.

What's the rate of pay?

At least the National Minimum Wage, based on age and stage of apprenticeship.

Do you pay National Insurance?

Employers may be exempt from Class 1 National Insurance contributions for apprentices under 25 who meet eligibility criteria.

Delivery

How are the lesson's delivered?

Delivery includes 6 hours per week of off the job training within working hours, supported by a specialist assessor through a mix of remote and face-to-face sessions.

Is delivery flexible?

Yes. Delivery includes remote and face to face sessions, monthly learning sessions, and quarterly reviews, tailored where possible to learning styles and business needs.

What about Maths and English?

If required, Functional Skills Level 2 is delivered alongside the apprenticeship within the first 6 months.

Obligations

Employer’s responsibilities?

Provide a safe workplace, a contract for the apprenticeship duration, 6 hours per week for training, and ongoing support and engagement.

Apprentice’s responsibilities?

Attend sessions, complete work on time, act professionally, and communicate any absences or role changes.
