We are thrilled to announce that Michelle Van Sprang, Director of AS Training, had the privilege of attending the prestigious Inspiring Women – Rising Stars Lunch, hosted by Travel Weekly at the Hyatt Regency in London. This incredible event celebrated the rising stars of the travel industry and acknowledged the remarkable impact they are making.
Michelle was honoured to bring along one of our standout apprentices, Katie Golding, from Fred Olsen Travel Agents. At just 16 years old, Katie, fresh from school, was given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit among some of the most influential leaders and rising stars in the travel industry.
Michelle shared her experience on social media, expressing how magical it was to see the event through Katie’s eyes. “Seeing this event through Katie’s eyes was pure gold,” Michelle said. “Whilst we are here to inspire our apprentices, they inspire me every day. Their passion and drive fuel my desire to create more opportunities and push the boundaries in the travel industry.”
A highlight of the day was hearing from Dame Kelly Holmes, who ignited a fire in all attendees with her passion and dedication to apprenticeships. Dame Kelly even highlighted Katie and the bright future ahead of her, marking a truly unforgettable moment for both Katie and Michelle.
The day was made even more special thanks to Jet2, who generously shared their Levy pot, allowing apprentices like Katie to embark on their exciting travel career journeys. To top it off, the wonderful Joanne Palladium gifted Katie a spot on an upcoming fam trip, ensuring that her adventure in the travel industry is only just beginning.
Michelle returned from the event feeling incredibly inspired and motivated to continue building opportunities for the next generation of travel professionals. “I want as many people who have a dream and passion for travel to have the opportunity to do so,” she said.
At AS Training, we are passionate about creating pathways for young professionals to excel in the travel industry, and events like these remind us of the powerful impact we can have on the future of travel.
Stay tuned as we continue to support rising stars like Katie, and work with industry leaders to inspire and shape the next generation of travel professionals.
